Jake Cooper has joined Darlington on a month's loan in a move aimed at providing him with more game time and helping to revive the Quakers' promotion push in the Vanarama National League North. Former Rotherham United centre-back Jake has started 11 of Altrincham's 32 National League games this season after turning a loan spell with the Robins into a permanent transfer last summer. Highly regarded in the Alty camp, it was felt the 22-year old defender, now fully recovered from injury and eager for time in the middle, would benefit from a stint in the fiercely-competitive environment of a National League North promotion battle. Jake had a loan spell at Darlington in August 2021, making 11 appearances and scoring three goals in a contribution that made a lasting impression on Quakers boss Alun Armstrong.
