Jeff Ross, the director of 2019’s Days Gone for PlayStation 4, said after that game’s poor critical reception, studio leadership wasn’t interested in pitching a sequel to higher-ups at Sony, and other suggestions didn’t get much traction, either. Ross left SIE Bend Studio in 2020.
