Doctors on Jetpacks: A reality closer than you might think

Descrição
UK inventor Richard Browning’s company Gravity Industries hopes to equip medical personnel with jet packs sooner than you might expect. The not so sci-fi concept is aimed at providing rapid response during a medical emergency in hard to reach locations such as the top of a mountain. Gravity along with UK’s Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) has conducted a demo of their concept, a short film of which was posted on their channel, Gravity Industries. In the video, we can see Browning himself, jetpack to a simulated casualty on a mountain in under 90 seconds. Even though the jetpack only has a flight time of around 5-10 minutes. The concept could potentially help deter fatal situations. However, an individual requires ‘highly specialised training’ to fly the jetpack, hence not every medic can use it right off the bat. Not cost-effective yet, the suits cost USD 438,000 dollars (Rs 3.25 crore approximately.) (With inputs from Engadget)
