The official website of the Comic Zenon web magazine announced on Tuesday that the serialization of Yako Gureishi's Somali to Mori no Kamisama (Somali and the Forest Spirit) manga has ended due to the author's poor health. The web manga had been on hiatus since October 2019. Gureishi began serializing the slice of life fantasy manga on the Comic Zenon website in April 2015. Tokuma Shoten released six volumes between November 2015 and April 2019. Prior to the hiatus, Gureishi published 38 chapters. North Stars Pictures (now Coamix) licensed the manga in English and published the volumes digitally between February 22 last year and January 21. A 12-episode television anime adaptation produced by animation studio Satelight aired this Winter. Crunchyroll co-produced and streamed the anime with subtitles and English dub.
